Glenn passed peacefully, with family by his side at Qualicum Manor, Qualicum Beach, British Columbia. Born in Winnipeg in 1923, Glenn was the son of David Cooper and Jean Reid. Predeceased by his siblings Jean Fielder, David A P Cooper, Rev. John C Cooper and Connie McCaskill. Father of Pam Cooper (Eric Johannsen) and Dr Allison Cooper (Brian Sullivan) in Ottawa; Grant Cooper (Dorothy) in Etobicoke; and John Cooper in Edmonton. Grandpa to Aubrey Cooper, Robin Johannsen, Samantha Cooper, Jason Cooper and Nicholas Sullivan. Glenn will be missed by his nieces and nephews, as well as by friends in Canada and overseas. 

He was educated at the University of Manitoba and McGill University (Mech Engineering, 1945). He was proud to have worked in eight provinces and to have represented Canada abroad during his career. From 1945-52 he worked as an engineer in Canada and Venezuela, before joining the Public Service (Trade Commissioner Service). Postings in Guatemala and Minneapolis bookended his career with assignments in Ottawa and Regina between. In the early 1990s, he taught English in Bratislava (Slovak Republic) to engineering and architecture students, responding to a call for volunteers. Living in the Parksville area from the 1980s, he remained active through Scottish Country Dancing and had an extensive network of friends. 

The family would like to thank the exceptional staff of Qualicum Manor for their kind and compassionate care for Glenn during his four years with them. Family and friends are invited to join us for a Memorial Service at Yates Memorial Services, 1000 Allsbrook Road, Parksville, BC, on Sat, Nov 25, 2017 at 11 am (visitation from 10 am), with a reception afterwards. Interment to follow at the Memorial Garden of St Columba Presbyterian Church, Parksville. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the charity of your choice.
