Mom was born January 19, 1926 and lived in Port Alberni BC until her passing. Anyone who knew Mom knew she always loved being surrounded by her family and her home was always the meeting place for the family to come. Mom was an avid gardener and loved to spend time in her yard - being at home was where she was most content. She was a good cook and always liked to feed people when they came to visit whether it was a meal or just tea and sweets there was always something that was offered. She was a great hostess and special holiday dinners with the family were some of our most cherished memories especially in our younger years.
Mom liked her Garage Sales. Dad and Mom would set out every Saturday to do the Garage Sale circuit and she love to show us her finds, she also liked hosting her Garage Sales On Paterson Place and always made it an event complete with coffee, hotdogs, and donuts.
The family would like to thank Dr. Lund, Dr. Ean Smit, the Nurses and CHW’s at Rainbow Gardens Assisted Living, and the Nurses and CHW’s at Fir Park Village for the good care they gave Mom where she spent her last days. Also thank you to Al Malcomson for all your visits with Mom she always enjoyed your chats about the old neighbourhood. A Very Special Thanks to Mom’s “Special Friend” Tracey our family thank you for all your help with Mom over the years, Mom always enjoyed your visits.
A Private Family gathering will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, those wishing to honour mom’s memory may do so by making a donation in her name to Fir Park Village/ Echo Village Foundation.
We Miss you Mom - Love you “More”.
Until We Meet Again, Rest In Peace.
Give Dad our Love.
