Auriel Souchuck

1932 - 2018

It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of Auriel Souchuck on June 25th, 2018. Auriel was a wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, & friend. She left a lasting impression on every life she touched. Those left behind are left with an emptiness that we do not know how to fill. However, we take comfort in knowing that she has gone to join her husband Tony, father Thomas, mother Emily, siblings, & friends who left before her. Auriel’s life was filled with love from her son Bob (Chris), daughter Judy (Bob), grandchildren: Brittany (Tom), Jordan (Caroline), & Josh.

Auriel was proud to have been a manager at Fields for over 22 years, since retirement she stayed close to the friends she made there. Through her work at Fields she developed a love for computers, in the end she had more iPads than the Apple store. She loved Facebook, She always felt the need to share everything. Auriel also loved hockey, she was a loyal season ticket holder for the Alberni Bulldogs since their first season. She was a vocal fan who would give anyone a piece of her mind if they disrespected her Bulldogs. Above all Auriel had a vibrant personality with an infectious laugh, & she treated everyone she met with kindness. She will be remembered for her insurmountable strength to meet life’s challenges whether good or bad. She took pride in finding her independence at a time when so many became dependant on others.

We would like to take the opportunity to thank Tom & Shirley Stobbart for being such amazing friends to her, supporting us during this difficult time. You two are part of our family. We would also like to express our gratitude towards Amy, you provided her with so much comfort & love during her time in hospital.

Please join us at 11:00 am on July 14th, 2018 at 4470 Gertrude Street (Yates) in Port Alberni to celebrate & honour Auriel’s life. Please feel free to wear your Bulldogs or any hockey jersey, & bright colours.
