Dianne Carol (Parry) Bullock

Dianne Carol Bullock (Parry), 75, passed away peacefully September 13, 2019 surrounded by her family after her battle with dementia.

Dianne was the second child born to parents Frances Mabel Parry (Lenfesty) and Bob Harry Melvin Parry, in North Vancouver October 23, 1943. Dianne’s childhood was spent in Deep Bay where the family lived in a home on Gainsberg Road.

Dianne and Mike, their children Tara and Todd, lived in Port Alberni surrounded by many wonderful neighbours who became life long friends, Dianne loved you all. Eventually moving to Qualicum Beach in 1999 once again finding great neighbours that she loved.

Dianne worked as administrative assistant at the Royal Bank in her early career both in Naniamo and Port Alberni, then at McGill and associates in Port Alberni and Finally at the Port Alberni city hall when she retired. She is remembered as being efficient and effective, and caring of her coworkers, quick to offer support or a shoulder to lean on.

Dianne enjoyed travelling with Mike, a quick weekend camping trip, driving across Canada, Touring thru the US, jetting off to Hawaii, skiing at many resorts, visiting Marilyn in Europe or cruising the Caribbean and Alaska, but perhaps her favourite was exploring DisneyLand/World with her children and grandchildren.

Dianne is survived by her loving husband of 55 years, Michael, Sister Marilyn (Brian), Brother George (Heather), Sister-in-law Pat, children Tara (Rob) and Todd (Georgina), Grandchildren Kerri, Dakota, Riley and Parker, Great Granddaughter Brielle, many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, she adored you all.

Many thanks to the nurses and care aids at the Gardens Qualicum Beach, you made Dianne’s final days comfortable and dignified, the support and compassion you showed Dianne and Mike is above what was required.

Dianne believed in family and being connected to the people she loved, always ready with a fantastic feast, even if she did catch the dinner rolls on fire on occasion, she will always be remembered for her big warm smile that never faded away even as the dementia crept in. She will forever be loved and remembered.

A gathering of remembrance and celebration will be October 12, 1-3pm at Yates Funeral home, 1000 Allsbrook Road, Parksville, BC V9P 2A9
