Doreen STEININGER Obituary

It is with broken hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved Mother and friend, Doreen Jane Steininger (nee Jacobi) on September 8, 2018 at Stanford Place in Parksville, BC. After spending her last days peacefully with us, Mom chose her 67th wedding anniversary to join our Dad, Richard and other loved ones in Heaven including son Rick and great-grandson Hunter, as well as her father Otto, mother Anna, sister Lillian and brother Edwin.

Mom leaves behind her son Raymond (Bev), daughters, Randi (Phil), Terri and Sandra (Steve), brother Allen (Gay), sister-in-law Doris, as well as many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and extended family. An incredibly strong woman and role model, Mom loved her job as a Sheriff’s Officer in the Vancouver Courthouse where she worked for many years before retiring in Ferndale, WA with Dad. Spending time with family brought Mom the most joy (her flapper and apple pies were family favourites) but she also found time to volunteer in our schools, with our RV club association and later in life at their Lutheran Church in Bellingham. Our angel on earth and in Heaven, we will miss you so much Mom. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.

The family would like to send special thanks to all of Mom’s caregivers and friends at Stanford Place and to her very special friends Penny and Katie.
