With Great Sadness we announce the passing of Edward Robert Traff.
Ed left us too soon after a brief and brave battle with cancer on December 30th 2019 in Palliative Care, Nanaimo BC.
Survived by his wife Barbara, his forever dance partner, and married 63 years with 3 daughters Janelle (Ivan), Pamela (Alan) and Marnie (Richard) and 4 Grandchildren, Anders, Lesley, Erik and Sam. A gentle, loving Dad and Grandpa who championed his kids.
Ed, the love of my life, my favorite dance partner, was propelled by his curiosity and creative abilities, his positive nature and a good challenge. A gentleman always and a true friend with humor, strong arms and a big smile. So many projects accomplished for himself and others from designing boats and houses, to inventing tools for wood turning. An engaging and enthusiastic high school Shop Teacher in Prince Rupert, Pitt Meadows and Burnaby North through the 60’s and 70’s. He was liked by so many staff and students! He was also a Master at diesel mechanics, welding, drafting, fiberglassing, construction, land development, sales and his passion, wood turning. He was interested in all things.
At age 85, he still had many plans yet to complete, and has left us heart broken. A celebration of his life to be held at a later date.
