Joan Ruth IRVINE

Our loving mother has passed.  Joan Ruth Irvine was born on September 4th, 1934 and passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Tuesday, July 2nd, 2019 at Trillium Lodge in Parksville, BC.

She was predeceased by her husband of 58 years, the love of her life, Harvey Daniel Irvine in 2010; brother, Morris;and her parents Milton and Olive Lawson. She is survived by her sister ,Lois; daughters, Lynda Parakin and her husband Duane and Brenda Irvine; son, Donny Irvine and his wife Fatima; grandchildren, Kirstyn, Kelsey, Kyle, Jessica and Katlyn; great grandchildren Viviana, Elia and Keeper.

Joan and Harvey fell in love in Ontario and settled in Dundas, Ontario where they raised their 3 wonderful children until retiring to Parksville, BC.

Mom enjoyed volunteering with her church family and in the community, working with the SOS in the soup kitchen.  Joan enjoyed many hobbies such as Tole painting birdhouses, paper tole, spending time in her garden as well as being active with her Quilting and crib groups.

Joan was easy to love and touched the hearts of many with her generosity, kind heart and loving ways, she will be missed and always remembered by her family and friends.

Please join us for our Mother’s Celebration of Life to be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, July 20th, 2019 at the Living Hope Community Church, 1390 Errington Rd in Errington, BC.  Mom loved colour... let’s celebrate her in your brights.

In lieu of flowers, the family is asking those wishing to honour Joan's memory to consider doing so by making a  donation in her name  to the Manna Homeless Society, Box 389 Errington BC  V0R 1V0 or on line at www.mannahs.com.  Manna is an organization that cares for the needy and homeless, which was near and dear to our mothers heart.
