Lina Martha KLEYWEGT

Our beloved mother, Lina, a wonderful mother to her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren, passed away peacefully after a long, happy life.

Lina was born and raised in Monster, The Netherlands, met and married the love of her life, Klaas, and then immigrated to Canada, settling in Port Alberni in 1953.

Lina was predeceased by her loving husband, Klaas and her son-in-law, John Arentsen.  Survived by her children, Yvonne Arentsen, Carolina Vandenhoorn (Roland), Roy  (Joanne), Ed  (Rita), Pete (Grace),  Ray.   She also leaves her grandchildren:  Milina Arentsen, Shawn Arentsen & Jolene Watt (Willie); Sonya Vandenhoorn (TJ), Jeffrey Vandenhoorn (Amanda),  Bobby Vandenhoorn (Chantal), Trevor Vandenhoorn; Brian, Andrea Keizer (Tim),  Michael (Jacqueline), Brent, Denise, Keith; Tanya Shannon (Ty), Bruce (Kaitlyn) & David (April); as well as her great grandchildren Tyler, Alexander, Johnny, Ashlynn, Emerson, Tyrone, Kirsten, Lincoln , Riley, Finley, Addison, Spencer, Landon, Esmé, Bennett, Autumn and Landon.

Lina was a very loving wife and an exceptional mother to her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.   She was a very active member of the Alberni Valley Christian Reformed Church family.  Lina enjoyed spending time with her family, gardening, baking, cooking and everyone was always welcomed into her home. 

Viewing will be held at Yates Memorial Services, 4470 Gertrude Street,  from 10:00 to 11:00 am on Monday, March 19th, 2018.   Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 pm on Monday, March 19th, at the Alberni Valley Christian Reformed Church, with Curtis Korver officiating.  Graveside Services will follow at the Alberni Valley Memorial Gardens, with tea to follow downstairs at the Alberni Valley Christian Reformed Church.
