Patricia MARTIN Obituary

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Patricia Martin of Parksville. After her latest battle with cancer she passed away peacefully at Trillium Lodge Hospice in Parksville on September 2, 2018.

Pat was predeceased in 2017 by her husband Richard Martin. Pat is also predeceased by her brothers Tom Case (2007) and Ray Case (2015). Left to mourn her passing are sons Dan (Cheryl) Brown and their daughter Cheyenne of Dryden ON; Steve Brown of Kamloops, BC; and daughter Deanna (Jim) Lynch and her son Aidan (AJ) Johnson of Qualicum Beach, BC. Also left to mourn is her brother Rod (Shawna) Case of Peterborough and numerous nieces and nephews. Pat is also survived by Richard’s children and grandchildren.

Born in Belleville, ON in 1947 to Raymond and Ada Case (both deceased) Pat met Rick in 1981 and they eventually found their way to Parksville in 1994. Over the years they bought and fixed up many homes and along the way making a number of dear friends. Pat was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend who loved spending time with her family and friends. One of Pat’s few regrets in life was not getting to take a family trip this fall to meeting her new granddaughter.

We are so thankful for the amazing care and support that our Mother received from the nursing staff at both the Cancer Clinic in Nanaimo and the Hospice in Trillium Lodge and to Drs.’ Kulla, Hunter and van der Weyde. Your kind, caring words and generous smiles helped heal and comfort our Mother in ways that medicine couldn’t. In lieu of flowers, donations to Oceanside Hospice Society, 210 Crescent Road W, Qualicum Beach, BC V9K 1J9 www.oceansidehospice.com would be greatly appreciated.

A Celebration of Life will be held October 3 for family and friends.
