Rose Marie BAUML

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Rose Marie Bauml (nee Bitz) peacefully with family at her side on May 15, 2019.

Rose is survived by her loving husband of 62 years, Andrew; daughters, Gayle and Glenda (Don); son, Kevin; grandchildren, Travis (Lisa), Justin, Tyson, Danielle, and Cody; great grandchildren, Aurora and Brynnlie; brother, Eugene; and sisters, Victoria and Doreen. Rose was predeceased by her mother (1964), sister Vivian (1980), brother Donald (1982), sister Evelyn (2009), grandson Jason (2018), and son in law Dale (2005).

Rose was born in Leipzig, Saskatchewan on May 2, 1938 to Longinus and Rose Bitz. She moved to Vancouver in 1956 and was married to Andrew on March 2, 1957. Together, they lived in Vancouver and Tsawwassen, then moved to Errington in 1979. Rose and Andrew started a hobby farm, which later became their retirement home. Rose was a passionate gardener and loved raising cattle. She and Andrew were avid travelers and enjoyed many excursions to Hawaii, Mexico, Las Vegas and Southern USA, where they met life-long friends.

The family would like to thank all the wonderful staff at Stanford Place for their caring and support over the last few months. A service will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, June 15th, 2019 at the Catholic Church of the Ascension, 887 Wembley Rd., Parksville. Flowers are gratefully declined. Donations may be made in Rose’s name to the Alzheimer Society of BC www.alzheimer.ca
