Rudolf and Emile WIDDERSHOVEN Obituary

Rudolf J Widdershoven        Dec  26 1925 - Sept 25 2019

Emilie A Widdershoven  (Vergnes)     Dec 24 1930 – Nov  12 2019

Rudi and Milie were both born in Holland and immigrated to Canada in 1950 and 1956 respectively.

They lived the first 20 years in Sydney, NS  and then relocated to Quispamsis, NB in 1975. They relocated to Parksville, BC in 2018 to be closer to `The Boys` who all live on the west coast.

They are survived by many siblings in Holland.

They were predeceased by their infant son Johnny Robert Aug 4 –Aug 5 1962

They are survived by 3 sons Rudi (Trish),  Paul (Charlene) and Terry

6 Grandchildren Jessica (Angus), Nicholas (Andrea),  Marlise,  Kurt ,  Mikel (Dianna), Chelsy (Brandon)

7 Great Grandchildren  Kyle, Caitlin, Emily, Sam,  Kesler,  Ainsley &  Kinley.

Rudi was a gentle and kind man who was a devout Catholic and very involved with St Marks Church in NB.  He loved Milie with all his heart and was so proud of all his Boys.  He was a super Opa (Opie) and Great  Opa  and truly loved his grandchildren & great Grandchildren  especially the New Brunswick girls Ainsley & Kinley as they were such a large part of their world in there.

Milie was an amazing wife & Mother.  She was a wonderful  Oma (Omie)  and Great Oma  and  who loved deeply and was the ‘Best listener  Ever” as her large circle of people she cared about is a testament to.

They were both great community volunteers and were involved in many causes over the years.

The family is especially grateful to Marlise Widdershoven & Betty Kilpatrick in NB & Jenny Yacoboski  & Deb Laughlin in Parksville who cared for them the last few years.

They will both be greatly missed by family & the many people whose lives they touched and helped over the years.

The family is grateful that their passings were peaceful & pain free as they both had always wanted  and that they are together again with their  “Darlings” as they always  called each other. Their life was a true “love story” from beginning to end.  Rest in Peace!
