Timothy Fry Obituary

Timothy Robert FRY, age 66, of Nanaimo, British Columbia, died Sunday afternoon, October 6, 2019 surrounded by family.

Born May 12, 1953, in Winnipeg, Manitoba, and raised in Richmond, British Columbia, he was the son of the late David Charles FRY and Hattie Evelyn FRY nee MCGUIRE of Mayne Island, British Columbia.

Tim is survived by his daughter Elizabeth Johnson (Perry) of Moray, Scotland and his grandchildren Annabelle and Jordan; brother Alan (Gail) Fry and niece Mary. Tim was predeceased by his sister Nancy Margaret Fry.

Growing up Tim enjoyed family camping adventures throughout western Canada and the US, and summer trips on the train to Winnipeg to visit grandparents. Tim graduated from Steveston High in 1971 and attended the University of British Columbia where he studied Geology.

After his studies, Tim enjoyed his time living and working in Fraser Lake, BC, but moved to Mayne Island when his mother became ill to help with her care.

Tim loved Mayne Island where he was a volunteer Firefighter, worked as a carpenter and where he met his wife, Angela KIRK.

Tim’s passion was music, especially playing the drums where he enjoyed many happy hours performing with friends. Tim eventually divorced and moved to Nanaimo where he worked as a property manager for many years. Tim has met and made many friends along his way. He was loved and will be missed by many.

A service will be held for Tim at 1:00 PM, Sunday October 13, 2019, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 2424 Glen Eagle Crescent, Nanaimo, BC, V9T 4J6.
