Alveda Hoare Obituary

With heavy hearts we announce the passing of Alveda on Saturday, September 26, 2020. She was predeceased by her husband of 20 years, Norm in March of 2000.

Born in Victoria, Alveda was raised in Tofino where her parents settled after immigrating from Norway. The Arnets helped build the first church in Tofino and were also the first couple to be married in it.

As a young lady, Alveda moved to Prince George where she worked in a sawmill as a machine operator for almost 20 years. She participated in several chuck wagon races with her four horses. It was while living in Prince George that she met the love of her life, Norm. In time, they moved to back to Vancouver Island settling in Parksville.

Many thanks are given to her nurses and care-aids, her nephew, Brian, and her closest friend, Westla for their continued and loyal support in her last few difficult years.

Alveda was a feisty girl and lived life on her own terms. She has many friends and family members who will miss her dearly.
