Calvin Fletcher Obituary

It is with much regret and deep sadness that we announce the passing of Calvin Fletcher.

Cal was a loving husband, Father, Grandfather, and a recent Great-Grandfather. He was predeceased by his wife of 59 years, Eleanor, whom he loved very much. Survived by his daughters Julie and Diana, son Gregg and daughter-in-law Jen, grand-daughters Kristin and Kelsey and their spouses Duncan and Steven, great-grandson Jack. His brother and nieces and nephews in Ontario. By all of whom he will be tremendously missed and lovingly remembered.

Cal was born in Guelph, Ontario in 1932. He achieved his CPA Accounting designation and worked his way to the West from Ontario to Calgary, and then to Vancouver Island throughout his long career. He was a brilliant man who worked hard to achieve successes in both his work and personal life, and provide every happiness for his family. Cal had many loyal friends who he cherished. All his friends meant the world to him. Thank each and every one of you for being part of his life.

Cal and Eleanor traveled extensively together throughout their lives and cherished the memories of these trips dearly, meeting many friends along the way. Cal taught himself Spanish so he could communicate with the locals in their travels to Mexico, Portugal and Spain. He loved to learn, and always kept up to date with current events and politics. He was an avid golfer and member of the Morningstar golf course for the past 25 years. He recently re-connected with the sport of curling, and enjoyed being a spectator for all of his grandkids tournaments and events.

We wish to thank Cal’s friends and colleagues for their support and kindness throughout the years, and especially since Eleanor’s passing. In keeping with his wishes there will be a small service.

Cal will be greatly missed by all whose lives he touched throughout the years.
