Remembered With Love

It is with great sadness we announce the passing of our dear mother, Cora Mae Jensen on Saturday, April 24, 2021.

Mom was predeceased by her husband, William Alfred Jensen; daughter, Patricia Diane Bouchard; son, Thomas Jensen; daughter in law, Laurie Jackson; granddaughter, Linda Tardif; and great grandson, Kaden Tardif; parents, Hazel O’Brien Jackson and William Wilbur Jackson; mother in law, Ella McKay; as well as her brother, Henry Jackson; several sisters and brothers in law.

In 2019, Mom was predeceased by her twin grandsons Jackson and Edward Wiggins.  Mom was so looking forward to meeting these little guys.  It is comforting to know that she will get to hold and cuddle them.

Mom is survived by her children, Don Jackson, Fran (Dave) Klyne, Chuck (Rosa) Jensen, Marlene (Denis) Tardif, Jim (Wanda) Jensen, Pete (Ellen) Jensen, and Joyce (Jerry) Skrjanec; as well as brother, Albert Jackson of Abbotsford;  14 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; 1 great great grandchild; and many nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends.

Born in Glentworth, Saskatchewan, Mom spent most of her young life in Stoughton, Saskatchewan.  After living in Vancouver for a few years, she met and married William (Bill) in 1953.  Bill became an instant Dad to mom’s first 3 children, Pat, Don, and Fran.  Together they would have another 6 children, Chuck, Marlene, Jim, Peter, Joyce, and Thomas.

Mom was a “home Mom” who tried hard to keep us in line.  We always had a garden and all her children were expected to work in  the garden weeding, picking veggies, and helping with the canning.   In her early years, Mom loved to play softball, she bowled in a league, and loved her Friday night bingo.

Mom lived just over 21 years after Dad’s death before her heart failed her and she was reunited with him.  Mom will be missed every day but she was ready to go.  Knowing Mom and Dad are reunited eases the loss we feel today.  If anything like in life, Mom and Pat are having many serious "discussions" and Dad is trying to be the peacemaker.

May they rest in peace together until we each meet up with them again.
