David Childs Obituary

David left us peacefully on the evening of August 11th with Pauline (nee Daoust), his wife of 56 years and his 2 children, Tanya (Oliver) and Dwayne (Kelly), by his side. Born in England on March 21st, 1940, David emigrated to Montreal with his parents and 4 younger siblings (Kay, Sandra, Roger and Richard) in 1952.

David’s early career started out as a mechanic at CN Rail, after 10 years he moved to Air Canada for 28 years. His retirement years were spent in Qualicum Beach, B.C. where he was active in the community and formed many close relationships.

His genuine curiosity about people created personal connections that gave him a life full of close friends. Always known as the life of any party, he will be missed by everyone that had the opportunity to know him and especially by his grandchildren (Ben and Aaliyah) and the Childs and Daoust families that had the privilege to love him.

A celebration of life will be held at the Qualicum Beach Lawn Bowling Club September 10th, 2022 @ 12:00 p.m.
