Dragos Neaga Obituary

AUGUST 14, 1994 - FEBRUARY 17, 2024

It is with profound sadness that we announce the unexpected passing of Dragos Lucian Neaga on February 17th, 2024, at the early age of 29.

The beloved first born son of Luciana and Gabriel Neaga, Dragos was born on August 14th, 1994, in Bucharest, Romania. As the blonde bundle of joy, Dragos was a healthy and happy baby surrounded by the love of his grandparents, uncle, aunt, and many extended family members. Later, Dragos became the big brother welcoming his brothers Edward and Philip to the family.

Dragos moved to Canada in May 1996, just a few months before he turned two. He lived in Edmonton for seven years, until 2003 when the family moved to Nanaimo.

Dragos started school at the Cordwood Adventist Academy in Edmonton, followed by Arrowsmith Adventist School in Parksville. From grade 6 to grade 10, he attended Nanaimo Christian School, followed by Nanaimo District Secondary School.

Dragos thrived especially during his middle school years at NCS. He was involved in the band program, all the sports activities, and he had an awesome group of friends and teachers. He had completed all his swimming levels and had his National Lifeguard Award and CPR training done at the age of 16. He was a natural at any sport he tried, from gymnastics to football, but his biggest love was skateboarding. He loved music, dreaming of producing his own one day, and he also loved animals.

What brought Dragos the most joy was being surrounded by people. He possessed a radiant smile, loved being the center of attention, and had an infectious energy. His outgoing and cheerful personality drew others to him, which he genuinely enjoyed.

If there is one thing we wish to remember Dragos by, it is his genuine care for others. Let his smile, energy, talents, compassion, empathy, and love for all be remembered. We cherish his supportive parents, awesome brothers, amazing family and friends, and his beloved Red's Bakery family.

In lieu of flowers, we kindly invite you to consider donating to a community outreach program in Dragos' memory.

May your heart find peace in the strength of your faith, in the closeness of friends, and in the love of family.

Rest in peace our dear Dragos, until we meet again! You may be gone from sight but remain in our hearts forever.
