Predeceased by his parents, Andy & Joyce, and his sister, Linda Brassard. Gary is lovingly remembered by his wife of forty years, Susan (nee Lesieur), his children, Mike & Kathy, Shane & Jillian, and Karen & Kevin, step-sons, Kevin, and Trevor, grandchildren, Jaden, Candace, Dalton, Ashton, Hartlen, Sophia, and Von, step-grandsons, Darcy, Dru, and Zayne, step-great grandsons, Rayne and Rowen, and his siblings, Debbie (Kim) Cyr, Clark (Christina) Oldfield.

Gary spent many years as a security guard and bull gang worker at the APD mill in Port Alberni. He was devoted to his little dog, Ozzy, enjoyed his Harley, and loved music and dancing, which he excelled at. Crib was a favourite pastime.
