Gladys Bertha (Vestby) Martin

Gladys Bertha Martin age 100 and 6 months passed away quietly and peacefully with her son Robert Jr and Loving Daughter in Law Leslie at her side in Parksville BC.

Gladys was born to Benne Olaf Vestby, who came to Canada with two brothers in a couple of boxcars to Kelliher Saskatchewan in 1913. Her mother Elsie C Larson was also from the States she married Benne in Kelliher in 1917. 

Her mother passed away Aug 19 1944 age 52 and was buried in Kelliher Saskatchewan. Gladys was the oldest of a family of four two brothers and one sister all deceased. Clifford, Dorothy and Ray E.

Gladys married her sweet heart Robert Martin Sr on October 16, 1945. He passed away on March 23 1984. They lived together on a beautiful farm in Saskatchewan until Gladys retired to Parksville in 1985.

Gladys is survived by her Son Bob Jr , Doreen Mavis, Daughter in-Law Leslie, Sean-Allen, Bob and Leslie's children Keri-Anne, Kristina Lorraine, Lindsay Joanne and Michael Karl Ian, a growing number of grand children and great grandchildren.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to the compassionate staff at Stanford Seniors Village and Dr. David Owen for your excellent care of Gladys.

A special interment service to held at a later date at Lake city Cemetery in Imperial Saskatchewan.
