A beautiful soul and wonderful person has left us to join the angels, to soar and be free. Isabel departed us at 12:30 PM on the 26th of May 2020 to join her Dad, Mother, Brother, and stepmother on another journey.
Born in Selkirk, Manitoba on the 2nd of November 1945 she and her family came to BC when she was a baby and she spent most of her life in Burnaby.
A single mother at 25 with two youngsters John and Samantha she spent the next 20 years of her life devoted to raising them. Unselfishly giving of herself everything to providing for them and at the same time helping to help raise her nephew Robert who was like a second son.
In 1997 she married Bob and her family grew by three more children Brian, Brenda and Bruce and a mother in law who she developed a special bond with and who became a true second mother to her.
Working at several jobs over her working life she retired working for Zellers. After retiring her and Bob moved to Parksville to enjoy retirement.
Over the course of the past 34 years her family grew by 11 grandchildren and one great grandson.
Among her surviving family there are two sisters, several nieces and nephews, son, and daughter in laws.
Isabel was happiest in her garden and kitchen and enjoyed puttering around in both. A quiet reserved person Isabel didn’t open herself up too many people, but her smile and laughter will leave a happy memory to a lot of friends and relatives.
A lot will love her to the moon and back and to infinite and beyond and hope she is very happy in her new place, watching over us all with a smile on her face and love in her heart.
Rest in peace Isabel. We all hope your new existence is more than you ever hoped for.
Isabel and her family would like to extend their gratefulness and heartfelt thanks to Dr. Hunter and the nursing staff at Trillium Lodge Hospice for the Kind and loving care they gave to her in her final 9 weeks of life. They are very special people doing a wonderful job to make the final days of life as comfortable as possible.
