James Wallace Obituary

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of James (Jim) Wallace.  Jim was predeceased by his parents - James and Isabelle Wallace, his wife - Mabel and his son - James Andrew Wallace.  He is survived by his Daughter Jennifer Terryberry (Ken) of Port Alberni BC, Stepdaughter Jeannie Tsicouris (Mark) of Irvine California and his Grandchildren Jessica Terryberry (Charlie) and Steven Terryberry of Port Alberni BC and Step Granddaughter Katie Foussier (Hugo) of Lyon, France.

Jim, who grew up in Victoria BC moved to Port Alberni in 1958 and opened the Dairy Queen with his father, he will be remembered by many as the man who put the curl on top of their ice cream.  Jim who loved the ocean and boats was an avid fisherman and he once considered a career in the Navy.  After retiring in 1988, he moved to Parksville BC where he met and married Mabel, his soulmate and fishing partner of 23 years. Jim who developed a keen interest and knowledge of computers also enjoyed camping and spending time with family and friends.

Jim’s family would like to thank the staff at the Ty Watson House as well as the home care nurses for the compassionate care he received during his last weeks.

Cremation has taken place and a service will be held at a later date, when all of Jim’s family members can attend.

In leu of flowers, donations can be made to the Ty Watson House in Port Alberni.
