It is with great sadness that the family of Wayne Coptin announce that he passed away peacefully on February 18, 2021 at the age of 78.
He was predeceased by his mom and dad John and Olive Coptin. He is survived by his loving wife Judy of 58 years. Daughter Tory (Craig) and son Terry. I, Judy would like to say a “Very Special THANKYOU” to my niece Karen (Bob)who were there from the beginning and did SO MUCH for me and Wayne. He is also survived by sister-in-law Trudy (Manfred) his cousin Mike (Deb) who was more like a brother. Also many nieces and nephews and friends who adored him.
Born and raised in Calgary, he joined the Calgary Fire Department in 1963 and rose to the rank of Captain before retiring in 1990. In the Dept he made life long friendships that last to this day. After retiring to Vancouver Island his love of cars brought him to join the Ocean Idlers Car Club and VI Cruises with his rare 1967 Chevrolet Chevelle 396 Convertable.
In lieu of lowers please make a donation in Wayne’s name to the Nanoose Fire Department. A Celebration of life will be held at a later date.
