John "Wally" Bradley Obituary

Better known as WOODWAGON or WOODY to his logging buddies, Wally worked Vancouver Island hauling logs and gravel. Finally retiring from M&B at Chemainus. He leaves to mourn wife Diana, daughters Linda and Heidi and his 3 grandchildren, Erica, Mason and Kyle as well as his new great grandson Jackson. He is also survived by his brother Ken Bradley of Port Alberni, BC.

Wally and his brother Ken arrived in Port Alberni with their father as young boys from the prairies and stayed with the Dol Family. Because times were tough Ken and Wally helped clear the Dol land forging a life long friendship and Wally was forever grateful. Diana and Wally travelled throughout the world and in later years enjoyed  spending winters in Yuma, Arizona and making new friends.  Wally fought dementia for the past 7 years, bringing him sad days but it was kidney disease that finally took him from us.

Wally loved to fish out in the ocean, often taking his boat out at French Creek. He could fix or build anything, from a motor to rebuilding his old 56 Chevy to their house, Wally usually had a project on the go. If you needed something fixed he could do it.

Though he drove a logging truck for most of his working life he also worked for BC Parks at Rathtrevor for many years putting his building skills to work there as well.

We are thankful to all who visited him at Stanford Place and especially the care aids and LPN's.
