Kathleen "Kay" ANKLOVITCH Obituary

It is with great sadness that we say goodbye to Kathleen Margaret Anklovitch (Thompson)  Our beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, daughter, sister, cousin, aunt, and friend.

Born in Revelstoke, BC August 12,1932, Kathleen passed away surrounded by her loving family on Monday, October 12, 2020 at the age of 88 years.  Kathleen, better known to her family and friends as Kay, was born and raised in Revelstoke where she was a life long resident , except the last two months of her life she was moved to Port Alberni to be near family.

Kay is survived by her loving husband of 51 years, Stanley Anklovitch of Revelstoke BC; daughters, Sharolynn Armstrong (Dean Doskotch) of Port Alberni BC and Barbara (Tim) Izzard of Kelowna  BC; grandchildren, Richard Thompson of Fort McMurry AB, Brandi Thompson of Kelowna BC, Leslie (Chance)Thompson of Kelowna BC, Kelsea (Richard) Cretain of Calgary AB, Cole Doskotch of Port Alberni BC , Kyra (Angelo) Doskotch of Port Alberni BC, Kraig (Emma) Doskotch of Port Alberni BC; great grandchildren, Wyatt, Ava, Avery, Aiden, Grayson, Noah, Ashlyn, Aubrey, Nevaeh, Norah and Nash; as well as numerous extended family members and friends.  Kay was predeceased by her husband, Victor Melville Armstrong in 1965, son, Victor Bruce Amstrong; parents, James and Sarah Thompson; and her brother, Jimmy Thompson.

Kay's passion in life was camping and fishing with her husband, Stan.  She loved to go up to Mica and around Lake Revelstoke or to the Arrow Lakes to camp and fish and enjoyed going with her husband and brother to Pender Harbour to fish for salmon. Another love of Kay’s was bowling. She bowled on a Revelstoke team for many years, and she  bowled in the Senior's Games. She loved bingo and she and a few close friends went to bingo together at the recreation center, but the seniors bingo was one of her favourites. Kay enjoyed darts, she and her husband played darts at the seniors center.  She spent a lot of her time knitting and crocheting.  Her husband, kids and grandkids  all had Indian sweaters that she lovingly created. Kay loved pictures and and loved showing her photo albums and pictures to all who came over.  Kay loved to make Halloween costumes and dress up. She was a fantastic cook and loved to cook and bake for her family. She would make witches  fingers cookies at Halloween  and Giant  Santa Claus cookies  at Christmas for her grandchildren.  Christmas packages always had baking, (her skalalis, canned jams and pickles and of course knitted dish cloths and towels, and always the Giant Santa sugar cookies).   She will be missed by all who knew her.

The family would like to express their  Heartfelt thanks to Dr MacLeod, Ann Marie Gill, Dr Kate McCarrol, and all the staff at Mt Cartier Court, as well as all the staff at Echo Village for their wonderful care of our mother.  We would like to thank Carroll, Amy, Pam, Kelly, and all the other staff whose names we may have forgotten for the kindness, compassion, and care you showed our family during this most difficult time.

Cremation has taken place.  Kay will be laid to rest at a Graveside Service in  Revelstoke in the spring 2021.
