Lisbeth ANDERSEN

Lisbeth passed away Jan 24, 2021 at Fir Park Village in Port Alberni, at the age 86 years. 

Predeceased by her daughter, Marianne in 1981 and her husband Erik in 1985.  Survived by her daughters, Inger (Ed), Karin and Monica (Steve); grandchildren, Katie, Lorianne, Erik, Sean, Garrett, and Britta (and their spouses);  great grandchildren, Kylie, Blake, Bennett, Chantelle, Alyshia, Aylah, Hanna, Etta, and Henrik.  Also survived by her sister, Anne Marie and her family in Denmark. 

Mom was born in Denmark April 25, 1934 to Christine and Walter Broberg.  She was raised on a farm, educated in Business School, and apprenticed in Retail.  Mom loved swimming, water skiing and playing European handball. 

Our family immigrated to Canada in 1958, settling first in Port Alberni.  In 1970, we moved to Kimberley, BC, where Mom discovered her passion for snow skiing and watching hockey.  The following move in 1977 was to North Vancouver, where she began her long career with London Drugs.  A transfer with London Drugs brought Mom to Victoria in 1986.  She loved Victoria and enjoyed listening to live music at the local jazz clubs and spending time at Willow Beach with her dog Poppet.  She retired in 1999 at age 65.  Her last move was back to Port Alberni in 2014 to be closer to family and friends.

In 2016, Mom moved into Fir Park Village, which provided her with a warm and supportive home.  Mom was a quiet person, spending most of her days reading books, and enjoying family visits.  We are so appreciative for the excellent nursing care, nutritional meals, and fun activities over the past 5 years at Fir Park Village. It is a comfort to know that she was in such a wonderful home.  We will be forever thankful.
