It is with heavy hearts we announce the sudden passing of Malynda Holland, 52, on May 24, 2021 with her daughter and sister by her side. Predeceased by her mother, Paulina. Malynda will live on in the hearts of her daughter Amber, husband Larry, sister Velma, brother Ira, niece Tianna, nephew Chris, her remaining family, fur-babies, and friends.
Malynda was a caring mother, sister, aunt, and friend. Thoughtful and kind, she would always bring a small surprise to let you know she was thinking of you, whether it was a gift she picked out, or some of her much loved homemade potato salad. In the spring and summer months, she loved to be in her garden tending to her roses, harvesting fruits and vegetables and enjoying the visits from the hummingbirds. But the most important thing was always quality time with family, whether it be road-trips through BC, or just hanging out at home sharing in laughter and love.
She was a proud and supportive mom who emanated strength through the hard times, and reminded us to let down our hair and laugh in the good times. She always said she didn’t want our sadness when she passed, but rather, a celebration of her life and values. With a shot of her favourite whisky, we let her song play loud to serve as a reminder to those she left behind: “We’re here for a good time not a long time, so have a good time, the sun can’t shine everyday.”
