Margaret Elaine Mooney

Elaine was born in Flin Flon, Manitoba to George and Rita Lachance. She is predeceased by her mother, father, sister Carol, brother Warren and son Robert. Left to mourn are her husband George, daughter Shelly, grandson Tim and daughter-in-law Nicole, granddaughter Katlyn many wonderful nieces and nephews.

Elaine married George in 1957 and they moved to Port Alberni in 1966, subsequently moved to Columbia Beach in Parksville in 1980. Elaine loved to sew and enjoyed golfing and Tai Chi. While she was in business in R&R Travel Agency in Parksville, she was active in the Parksville community serving as President of the Parksville Chamber of Commerce in 1984. She chaired the Advisory Planning Commission and the Economic Development Commission for the city of Parksville for a number of years. Elaine enjoyed working in the travel industry. She escorted many groups though Europe and the South Pacific and was voted travel agent of the year for Vancouver Island by her peers in 1984.

George and elaine bought a motorhome when they retired in 1991 and spent many winters in Arizona and enjoyed it immensely. Elaine loved cooking, baking, and sewing and never got tired of playing cards and mahjong with her friends.
