Margaret "Peggy" Scharf

It is with heartfelt sadness that we announce the passing of Peggy. She is predeceased by her parents Hugh and Ruby Schultz of Meaford, Ontario and her daughter Patricia Allen.

Peggy is survived by her loving husband of 43 years Lester Scharf, her daughter Susan (Joe) Paluch of Hamilton, Ontario and her grand sons, Quentin and Adam of Hamilton, Ontario.

Peggy was the eldest of 17 children, a family of which she was very proud.

She worked for Loblaws for 35 years, starting as a part time worker before she worked her way up to head cashier for one of the top stores in Toronto. She retired to Nanaimo in 1989. After she moved to Nanaimo she joined the newcomers where she met many wonderful friends.

Peggy loved to entertain, she was a good cook and enjoyed having guests. She loved playing card games like Bridge and Euchre. Living on the island gave her the opportunity to be come a good golfer winning trophies for her efforts.

She was always happiest in her garden, nurturing plants, and flowers as they grew. She will be missed by many.
