Beloved wife of the late Richard Vicker Garnons Williams, to whom she was married for 58 ½ years. Survived by her children, Anne Calvert and Garry Calvert of Courtenay BC, David Williams and Nora Williams of Metchosin BC and Judy Williams of Nanoose Bay, BC and beloved grandchildren Vanessa Williams, Rebecca Williams, Richard Calvert, Katey Calvert, Alex Smith and Cassie Smith; sibling David Ure. Marjorie will also be sadly missed by many nieces and nephews.
After graduating from Penticton high School, Marjorie trained as a registered nurse at the Jubilee Hospital in Victoria BC. This is where she met the love of her life, Richard Williams. In addition to her nursing career, Marjorie was a mother and a fisher, joining her husband on their fishing vessel, the “Seabeam”. They spent many years on the ocean off the coast of Vancouver Island working as commercial salmon fishermen. Marjorie was also involved in fisheries politics and served on the Pacific Salmon Commission. In her later years she loved to travel with her husband in their motor home, visiting friends and family in the Okanogan, Alberta, US and Mexico.
Most of all, Marjorie loved being a grandmother and doted on all of her grandchildren.
The family would like to thank the staff at the Glacier View Lodge for their care and support of our mother and grandmother.
