Maureen was born in Cardiff Wales and moved to London Ontario as a young girl with her parents. She was very proud of her Welsh heritage and enjoyed singing and being a part of the Welsh Society of Vancouver.
Maureen had many exciting and challenging careers in her life time, such as working at various banks as a young mother then moving to BC to continue her career in banking. After retiring from the bank, Maureen started her own Bed and Breakfast with the help of Ernst & created one of the most sought after locations to stay, especially for European travellers. Maureen loved to meet new people from all around the world and kept in touch with many that stayed with them over the years.
In 2004 Maureen and Ernst moved to Qualicum Beach to live out their retirement and to enjoy Island life. Maureen loved her Grandchildren and enjoyed being with them and watching them grow in their sporting events. Maureen was part of many clubs in the area such as the Happy Wanderers Travel Club, Village Voices and she often could be found at the Senior center in Qualicum chatting everyone up with a smile on her face. She loved volunteering at the church and singing at various events with village voices at care homes. Maureen was always loved and ready to take part in Welsh events in the community and abroad. She will be missed by many who have known Maureen, she was loving and a true spirit.
A funeral will be held on June 24th with close family, with a Celebration of Life to be held at a later date.
