Richard "Rick" Lorne LLOYD

With heavy hearts we announce the passing of Richard, better known to his family and friends as Rick, on Saturday, March 13th, 2021 at his home in Port Alberni.

Rick leaves behind son, Michael (Ashley); daughter, Lora (Neil); grandchildren, Maddux and Tessa; his partner of 30 years, Sheryl; sister, Shirley (Wayne); brothers, Bob (Cheryl), Don (Bev), and Jim; special brother, Don Davidson; sister in law, Linda; as well as many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, extended family members and dear friends.  He was predeceased by his father, Lorne Lloyd in 2000; mother, Thelma (Timmy) Lloyd in 2010; brother, Allan in 1999; and sister, Bunny in 2020.

Rick enjoyed camping, fishing, and hunting all of which he did until such time as his mental and physical health would no longer allow his to do so.  He worked his entire career in the forestry industry.

A heartfelt  thank you  to all the staff and management at Westhaven Care Facility where Rick lived the last years of his life.  The family realizes that it is a difficult situation to be in and we would like to thank you all for your time, your patience, and the compassionate care that you gave Rick during his time with you. 

A special “thank you” to Larry at Westhaven for being such a good friend to Rick and being his sidekick.

In lieu of flowers, those wishing to honour Rick’s memory may do so by making a donation in his name to Westhaven.  No formal services will be held at this time.
