Robert George FORD

It is with great sadness that we share the passing of Robert George Ford on May 12, 2022. Bob is survived by Edie, his loving wife of 64 years; his son, Robert (Kathy); and daughters Sherry (Dave), Jo-ann (Glenn) and Laurie.  He is also survived by his 8 grandchildren; Stephanie, Shannon, Matthew, Clayton, Mitchell, Jason, Bryson and Nicholas; 13 great-grand children; sister, Shirley Cobb; sister-in-law, Donna (Ford) Harding; as well as many other friends and relatives.  Bob was predeceased by his parents, Muriel and  Colin George Ford; stepmom, Josie Ford; and his brother, Jim Ford.

Bob worked at several careers before purchasing a beach resort in Tofino in 1981. He and Edie enjoyed 30 years there before selling and retiring to Parksville.

There were many vacations along the way to New Zealand where they met long time friends Kaye and Sandy, Australia, Hawaii, many cruises as well as yearly treks to Indio, California.

Bob lived a long full life and will be greatly missed by all.

A Celebration of Bob’s Life will be held at Yates Memorial Services  on Saturday May 28th, 2022 at 1000 Allsbrook Road in Parksville at 2:00 pm.  The Service will be broadcast on zoom.  Please contact the family for more information.  In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Oceanside Hospice Society, 210 Crescent Road West, Qualicum Beach, BC  V9K 1J9 or oceansidehospice.com.
