Steve Wallis Obituary

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Steve Morris Wallis who passed away peacefully at Trillium Lodge in Parksville, BC May 2nd, 2022.

Steve was born in Surrey County, UK during the Second World War where his Father was serving for the Canadian Military. After the War, his Mother and Father moved the family to Canada to start a new life together. Steve eventually joined the Canadian Air Force when he was still a Teenager and moved to Comox BC where he met the love of his life, Beverly. Steve and Bev were married in 1961 and had their first child, Steve in 1962. Steve’s military career brought the family to Ontario and eventually to Nova Scotia where their second child David was born in 1964. When Steve left the military, the family moved to Victoria, BC where their 3rd child Shannon was born in 1969. Steve started his electrical career in Victoria and eventually started his own successful company, Trilec Installations. Steve and family were fortunate to spend many family vacations and adventures together creating a lifetime of memories. Steve sold Trilec Installations in 1981, but continued to work in the electrical industry until he was in his early seventies. During that time he wore many hats including Project Manager, Instructor, Estimator and Service Department Manager. He spent much of his sixties travelling North America teaching computer estimating for Accubid which was based in Ontario. Steve was a strong believer of lifelong learning and was always looking for new ways to improve his numerous skills. Steve loved sports, at 16 he won the Batting title in the Senior Babe Ruth league in Victoria with a 528 batting average. He also played hockey and sponsored a team when he still owned Trilec Installations. It was no coincidence that most of the Apprentices that were employed by Trilec were good hockey players before they were Apprentice Electricians. Steve also loved playing golf with his friends and even managed to score a couple of hole in ones over his lifetime. Steve will always be remembered for his quick wit and generosity to everyone who had the pleasure of meeting him. He will be dearly missed.
