It is with very heavy hearts that we share the passing of Steven Wilson. He passed too soon on October 21st, 2023 at the age of 57. Steve was born in Stettler, Alberta on December 30th, 1965 to Ray and Shirley Wilson.
The family moved to Vancouver Island in 1974 when Steven was 9. He attended high school at St. Michael’s University School where he enjoyed playing Football and Stelly’s Secondary School where he played on the Lacross team.
Steve was a very hardworking man his whole life and his work ethic started at the bright young age of 12 when he worked at Sidney Home Hardware Store, owned by Ray and Shirley Wilson. He worked the cash register on Sundays with his dad.
At the age of 14, he took the position of “bus boy” at a family-favorite restaurant called Odyssia. The family all still love this restaurant today.
All of his children were born on Vancouver Island before packing up and moving to Alberta in 1999. There, Steve’s career in construction and concrete began. Throughout the years, he did very well for himself professionally and personally, taking pride in shaping the world around him. Literally.
Steve is survived by his father Ray and sister Grace, as well as his son Cody (Allysha), his daughters Robyn (Brad), Meghann (Phil), Hannah (Carson) and his grandchildren Emma, Parker, and Jack.
Steve was passionate about music, traveling the world and being the truest friend anyone could ask for. He loved the outdoors and spending time with his friends and family. Whether it was backyard shenanigans, football games, camping trips, or just taking part in community events, Steve always showed up with a smile and a pocket full of jokes and laughter to share with everyone.
Among many things, He will be remembered for his warm hugs, gentle smile, words of wisdom (and sarcasm), and for his desire to make the world a better place. Steve Wilson was everyone’s favorite neighbor and will be remembered, loved, and missed dearly.
