Oct 31st, 1931- April 25th, 2022

Our beloved Mom passed away peacefully on Monday, April 25th. Mom was predeceased by her loving husband Ferdinand in 2020.

Born in Lennart Jurovski Dol Slovenia, she was the only daughter of Ivan (Janez) Gornik & Theresia Kranar, she was predeceased by her brother Ivan Gornik.

Mom came to Canada in October of 1957 and made her way to Port Alberni where she married the love of her life, our Dad, on December 14th, 1957 at The Holy Family Church in Port Alberni.

Mom was passionate of her large garden and green house, creating paradise for her family. She was known for her beautifully prepared meals and her apple strudel that made your mouth water. What ever plant Mom touched flourished, the Angel Trumpets she grew were stunning, all her flowers kept her very busy. She was active in the Catholic Women’s League for over 30 years.

Our hearts ache but we take solace in knowing that you are no longer in pain and that you will always be with us. We are Thankful that Mom was able to live in her home she desired for her entire life.

Mom is survived by her daughter Elizabeth (Chris), son William, grandchildren Joel and Stephanie, great grandchildren Joshua and Alysa. Cremation has taken place and in keeping with Theresa’s wishes there will be no formal service.
