Andrew ESCUIN Obituary

It is with broken hearts that we learned our precious Andrew was taken from us suddenly on November 30, 2018 at the age of 36.

Andrew - beloved son to Leanne Salter (Rick) and Edward Escuin. Cherished brother to Carissa (Dan), Aaron Escuin, and loving father to his son, Jayden Escuin. Andrew is terribly missed by his large family of uncles, aunts, cousins, nieces and nephews in Canada, Japan and the Philippines. Andrew was predeceased by his grandmother Grace Salter in 2018, his Lola and Lolo from the Philippines and by his cousin Marrianne Salter in 2015.

Andrew was born in Nanaimo hospital June 07, 1982. He grew up in Errington and attended Errington Elementary, Oceanside Middle School and then graduated from Ballenas High School - making life time friends throughout his life’s journey.

Andrew played hockey on the Parksville Atoms team as a child, as well as T ball on the Oceanside team. He also enjoyed snow boarding, golfing, hiking and camping. Andrew loved to camp with Jayden and they spent wonderful times together exploring Vancouver Island, creating many great memories through their adventures. He enjoyed hiking in the mountains with his friend Iain and he spent many afternoons with his Uncle Wayne. Together, they would work on cars and projects.

Andrew was a generous, sincere and loving man who treasured family above all. He was a loving uncle, friend and a dedicated dad to his 4-year old son Jayden, who adored him.

Andrew loved his family and friends and it was always important to him to stay in touch. He delighted in family celebrations and connecting with loved ones, he laughed easily and had great humor. He looked forward to his future and worked hard to provide a loving home where he could raise his young son.

Andrew was a quick thinker and very innovative - he often would excitedly share great ideas and inventions that he wanted to pursue. He loved animals and enjoyed growing vegetables on our small farm where he grew up. Andrew and Jayden spent many summer days picking raspberries in the patch at his home in Errington.

Andrew attended The Southern Alberta Institute of Technology (SAIT) in Calgary, several years ago when he began studying to become an electrician. He studied diligently and got all of his required certification in record time. He became an electrician and worked hard to move through

the stages of 1st, 2nd 3rd year electrical training. He then returned to BC and studied at North Island College in Campbell River - earning his electrical Red Seal. He was working for Techmation Electrical and Controls LTD as an electrician when he passed away.

Andrew is missed beyond words and we are struggling to come to terms with this. As a family, we cherish each moment that we had with Andrew, and I am so thankful for the privilege of being his mom and friend. I know that someday, we will get see him again. There will be a service for Andrew on Saturday, May 4th at Yates Memorial Services, 1000 Allsbrook Rd., Parksville.
