It is with great sadness, we announce the passing of Audrey MacLeod, better known to her family and friends as Bonnie, on May 9th, 2019. Bonnie was predeceased by her parents, Jack and Margaret Brodie. She will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 59 years, Malcolm; son, Doug (Sandy); daughter, Heather; grandchildren, Chris (Amy), Amanda (Ryan) Broos, and Shannon MacLeod; great-grandchildren, Nathan, Avery, and Parker; siblings, Jim (Linda) Brodie of St Albert, AB and Jacqueline (Jim) Miller of Edmonton, AB; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Bonnie loved her family dearly and was always true to her friends. She enjoyed summers at Alberta Beach where she spent her young years at the family cabin. She attended Westglen and Westmount schools in Edmonton, and in her teen years, worked at Alberta Government Telephone, Revenue Accounting. Bonnie was involved in Job’s Daughters and also active with The Optimist Club of Edmonton.
Through one of her husband’s work transfers, Bonnie moved to Burlington, ON and then later to Victoria, BC. Bonnie worked as a Dietary Aide in a seniors care home. In her spare time she enjoyed bowling and competitive horseshoes with friends. She loved sharing her gingerbread creations at Christmas, a favourite time of year for memories.
As requested, cremation has taken place and there will be no formal service. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to a charity of your choice.
