Dorothy Jean FINKAS

With sadness, we announce the passing of Dorothy Jean Finkas on Monday, May 14, 2018. Dorothy is predeceased by her husband, George Finkas and parents, Ernie and Elsie Grinde. She will be lovingly remembered by her son, Dan and wife Lisa of Qualicum Beach; grandchildren, Carter and Meredith; brothers, Don (Marg) - Vulcan, AB, Gordon (Judy) -  Wetaskawin, AB, Norm (Miriam) – Wetaskawin, AB, Brian (Heather) – Edmonton, AB; as well as multiple cousins, nieces and nephews.

Dorothy and George were married on October 30th, 1976. Their son, Dan, was born the following year on December 26th, 1977. Before marriage, Dorothy worked as a switchboard operator for Imperial Oil in Texas. After marriage she enjoyed many small part time jobs being a mother and homemaker. Dorothy enjoyed doing many crafts, including cross stitch, which was her favourite.

Dorothy’s family would like to extend a special thank you to friends for coming to visit and raise her spirits while she was ill, and a warm thank you to all for your continued support.

A Celebration of Life to honour Dorothy will take place at 2:00 pm on Friday, June 1st, 2018 at the Wildwood Community Church, 113 McColl Rd, Bowser.
