It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Joe Kovacs. He is survived by his wife, Tere Kovacs, daughter, Terri Mack and son-in-law Ken Mack, and step-son, Jason Christiansen. Joe had always surrounded himself with a great number of friends his entire life. In retirement, Joe could be found at a local Timmies having an early morning coffee with friends, including, Al, Don and Henry.
Joe arrived in Canada in 1956 just prior to the Hungarian revolution. Upon arriving in BC, Joe landed a job with CPR for nine years in Bainbridge and upper Cameron Lake areas. He then moved on to MacMillan Bloedel where he first worked as a chokerman for a short year and then a loader operator for his remaining work years. Joe retired from logging in 2000.
Joe had many hobbies that he loved, exploring every part of Vancouver Island, fishing and hunting, bee keeping, furniture building, mushroom picking and photography. One of his last great interests was technology, including the repair of 100’s of computers.
We wish you well Dad on the next part of your journey, wherever you may wander...
