Kenneth Capadouca passed away at home on Wednesday, December 5, 2018 at the age of 68. He was born on September 20th, 1950 in New Westminster. He is survived by his wife, April; daughter, Kristina (Paolo); grandchildren, Logan and Jordana; as well as brothers, sisters, and many nieces and nephews.
Ken was always a captain, restauranteur, foodie, jokester, dog lover, and lover of all things social. Ken was the life of the party and brought the party to every situation! He took fashion cues from no one. His signature every day look was his captain’s hat, which he wore everywhere. He was known as “Kaptain Ken” or nicknamed “Kaptain Kaos” and his first love was the sea. He had a few boats, but his true love was the Kristina Rose, which was named after his daughter, Kristina Rose. She then had celebrity status!
He would charter and live on his boat for many years in Granville Island. He was a restauranteur and owned many restaurants; Aretousa on Broadway, Mama Gold’s in Kitsilano, and Jim’s Café in Steveston. Ken was a unique character with a quirky personality. He loved his Greek music and loved to Greek dance at every event. He had a black belt in Judo as a teen and loved to box and watch the fights. He had nicknames for his family and the people he cared about. His memory will live on in our hearts forever.
A celebration of life to honour Ken will be held at a later date.
