Maureen Louise HAMMOND

My loving wife passed away not long ago. She was amazing, a kind, soft spoken, lovable, generous, thoughtful soul and I was blessed to have shared 47 years of her life with me. Maureen loved to go sailing, day trips, gardening and nature walks. She has warm feelings for all animals, but she had three favourites; frogs, horses, and dogs. Growing up in Richmond, BC, she listened to the frogs’ mating serenade that happened every spring for weeks. She was always excited to go riding. Even though on occasion she would be thrown, her perseverance and fight would put her right back on the horse! The ride would continue, and that’s the way she lived life.

Maureen loved with compassion and devotion, sharing every moment with me, and vice versa to laugh, to tease, or just to hold hands. Even with the daily pain and suffering, she used all of her strength each beautiful day just to be with me. That unconditional love for me was not taken for granted, we loved one another deeply. I am very sad and heart broken that Maureen has passed, but there is comfort in knowing my dearest Maureen has no more pain. My heart will be whole when we are together again in the next life.

Rest my love, until we love once more, your forever loving husband, I miss you immensely.
