Norwood Harding Sheck

Norwood Harding Sheck was born June 6, 1935 in New Salem, Nova Scotia. He passed away November 28, 2018 at his home in Port Alberni, BC. He was predeceased by his twin brother Shirwood, sisters Billie and Dale Sheck and his wife Evelyn. He is lovingly remembered by his sons Harold (Kathy) Vancouver, Trevor (Wendy) Ladysmith, step-daughter Joy Stalinski, Chemainus, his grandchildren Landon (Joanie) Sheck, Nanaimo, Brittany (Jay) Upham, Airdrie, AB, Sterling (Meghan) Sheck, Chemainus, Novak Sheck, Vancouver, Christa (Gary) Hewitt, Surrey, Sandy (Andy) Beam, Chemainus, his great-grandchildren Helaina & Isla Sheck, Juneau, Eevie & Nova Upham, Tristan & Kalli Hewitt, Quinn & Logan Beam; his half-sister Dora Malonson of Hubbards, Nova Scotia and many other family and friends.

At age 15 Norwood made a commitment to serve God and his relationship with God was re-established when at age 20, he left Parrsboro, Nova Scotia and made his way to Vancouver where he met and fell in love with Evelyn at Silverdale convention. They married March 31, 1956 and together they kept faithful to their vows to God and each other. Norwood's keen interest in fine art and books was well known and he shared his knowledge of both with any and all who knew him. Norwood was a loving, kind, generous, faithful and loyal husband, father, grand-father, brother and friend. We all will miss him greatly.

The family would like to thank everyone near and far for sharing this day with us. The staff of Yates Memorial Service has our heartfelt gratitude for accommodating our family so kindly as we say goodbye for now to our Dad & Grandpa.
