Carol Lynne (Dykes) McLellan

It is with heart felt sadness that the family announces the passing of our beloved Carol. She passed peacefully at Trillium Hospice on May 25, 2022.

Carol was predeceased by her father Hank and mother Frances and husband Brian of 30 years marriage. 

She is survived by  daughter Debbie Knapp(Steve), Parksville, BC; son Ron Brown(Elaine), Hinton, AB; stepsons Ross McLellan(Michelle), Nanoose Bay, BC and Brent McLellan(Kelly), Campbell River, BC.

Her six grandchildren were Bradley Knapp, Nanaimo, BC; Jennifer Zimmerman (Anthony), Chatham, ON; Savana Brown, Edmonton, AB; Walker Brown (Robin), Edmonton, AB; Mark Knapp (Rianna), Parksville, BC; and Olann Thornett, Nanoose Bay, BC. and one great grandchild, Rosalie Zimmerman, Chatham, ON.

She was survived by brother Earle Dykes (Dianne) Maple Bay, BC; and their children Annette Sharpe (Andrew; children – Cyanne and Kassandra), Vancouver, BC; Marysia Riverin (Domenic; children -  Ariella, Eliane and Jannika), Nanaimo, BC; Jocelyn Sheppard (Steve; children- Kennadie), Crofton, BC; Melanie Wakely (Bill; children – Gabe, Christian, Brittany and Joshua), Nanaimo, BC;  sister Lesley Sirianni, Nanaimo, BC,(children – Brooke (Geoff), Duncan, BC; Brad (Reannin; children – Mila), Edmonton,AB.

Carol was born in Port Alberni, BC and later moved to Nanaimo.  In her teens she met Mike Brown and they were married.    They had two children, Debbie and Ron and went their separate ways in 1983.  Shortly after that Carol met the love of her life, Brian McLellan, and they were married for 30 years until Brian passed in 2016.  They lived an adventurous life together and were extremely involved with their children and families.

Carol had a long and rewarding career in the Nanaimo Provincial Courts where she worked her way up through the ranks until she became a Justice of the Peace. She and Brian retired together in 2003 and began to travel the world.  They lived a privileged life and Brian always treated Carol like his little “Princess”.

There will be a private service for family and close friends at Yates Memorial Services on Sunday, July 17, 2022 @ 1:00 pm.

Following the service, Carol and Brian's cremated remains will be interred, so they can be together again.
