David Ross Macfarlane

David Ross Macfarlane of Parksville B.C. unexpectedly passed away May 10/ 2023. David was born June 23/1963 in Hamilton, Ontario. 

He was then raised in North Vancouver attending Argyle Secondary where he graduated from. After graduation David worked for a trust company in downtown Vancouver that he worked evening shifts at, which allowed him to study business administration and computer programming, he then graduated with a Bachelors of Business from Simon Fraser University in 1988. David began working for an insurance corporation in Vancouver that he later transferred to Vancouver Island, where he settled his roots and raised his family.  David worked for ICBC for many years, later was transferred to Work safe BC where he worked over 20 years until his retirement earlier this year. 

David was a passionate about sports, particularly hockey that he played a social league and enjoyed the love of the sport with his children.

Friends, sports, hiking, music, and concert-going were some of his greatest joys. 

David was a force of nature; he was determined to provide for his children and his family meant more than anything to him. 

He will be missed, and is survived by (father) Ross Macfarlane, (mother) Stella Macfarlane, (daughter) Karli Macfarlane, (sons) Cameron, Thomas, and Miles Macfarlane, (brother) Chris Macfarlane, (sisters) Alexandra and Katherine Macfarlane and his only grandchild Elias Macfarlane. We love you and miss you every moment.

 A service will be held July 22nd/2023 at Yates memorial at 1pm for family, friends and anyone who loved David as much as we did.
