With sadness, we announce the passing of Deborah Anne McKim on September 28th, 2018. Deborah is survived by her loving husband of 14 years, John D. Albanese; children, Clinton, Nathan, Cindy, and Pepper of Parksville, Vancouver, and Winnipeg; grandchildren, Dallas, Jacob, Kurtis, Claton, and Bethany; her mother, June McKim; nieces, Elicia and Ashley; siblings, Karen McKim (Corey) of Victoria, Wayne McKim of Dryden; Miss Val, Nelda and Bob, Big Al, Melissa and Brant, Amanda and Jason, Deborah Scully, Megan, and the Malone Family of Mission, BC.
Deborah was a hard working woman, always helping family and friends. She loved her many cats, Mini and Hobby-Bobby. From Ontario to BC, a single mother who raised her two boys and settled on Vancouver Island, which she called home.
In her younger years, Deborah was a hippy and party animal. She was scared of no one, and held nothing back. Rarely bit her tongue and was eager to say things like they were, yet adored by her co-workers and friends. She dedicated her life to her children and their friends, always baking and cooking. Her fantastic meals will be forever remembered. Her door and heart were never closed for family, friends, and especially stray cats.
Deborah was a big fan of the MRHH Racing Club and loved to seeing John race. Her favourite bands were Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, Dr Hook, and even Rod Stewart. Becoming a granny was her most precious accomplishment, calling her grandkids her little pots of gold. Granny, your memory will live forever and your presence cherished by all who knew you.
