Ian Maxwell died peacefully on Monday, July 19, 2021. He was predeceased by his beloved wife of 26 years, Carolyn, in 1998. Left to mourn is his daughter, Lee-Ann (Bruce Fong) and grandsons Logan and Nolin Fong. Ian will also be missed by Geoff (Cavelle) and Teresa, two of Carolyn’s children who he loved and raised as his own. Also Carolyn’s daughter Nadine. This blending of families gave him many grandchildren who loved and knew him as Papa: Farren, Jarret, Kalten, Ayden, Katelynn, Megan, Faith, Brandon, Austin, Nicholas, Noah, and Kasen. Ian also leaves his siblings Colleen (Gary), Carter (Linda), and Selena, his many friends from his career at DND Dockyard, the Royal Canadian Legion, the village of Shawnigan Lake and his hometown of Brentwood Bay. No service by request. Donations can be made to The Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Alzheimer’s Society of B.C. He will be tremendously missed.
