James David Brulotte

It is with deep sorrow that the family of Jim Brulotte announce his passing on Sunday, February 21, 2021 at the age of 64. He was preceded in death by his parents, Guy Brulotte and Edna Holts.  

Born and raised on Vancouver Island, Jim ventured to the mainland in his early adulthood, working in the Okanagan for a time before returning to and settling on the Island.  In 1982 he created Service Dispatch, a business he would run until his retirement. Well respected for his knowledge and hard work within the trailer industry, he made many lifelong friends and connections. Jim had the innate ability to make friends easily; with his quiet and easy going nature he was always willing to lend a hand, give advice, play a prank or crack a joke. He had a group of devoted friends he affectionately called the ‘coffee crew.’ 

The utmost priority in Jim’s life was his family.  He was a devoted husband to his beloved wife Barb and proud father to their four children, Chrissy (Mike), Teri (Tristan), Lori (Paul), and Nick. He leaves behind his three cherished grandchildren, Jacobi, Hayden and Ariel. He is also survived by his brother Neil (Therisa), sister Penny (Dean), as well as his ‘big sister’, Rose-Anne and many cousins, nieces and nephews.   

The family would like to thank the doctors and nurses at the Nanaimo Regional General Hospital and Palliative Care Unit for the compassion and care they provided. The family takes comfort in the peace Jim now has as he is no longer confined to a body that failed him long ago.
