It is with heartfelt sadness that we announce the passing of Gordon Anderson on January 7, 2021.

Gordon is predeceased by his first wife Margaret “Peggy” Anderson, his second wife Lillian “Terri” Newton-Anderson, and his brothers Arnold and Gilbert Anderson.

He is survived by his sons David Anderson (Melinda) and Keith Anderson, stepchildren Glenda, Donna, Carol and Larry Newton, grandchildren Shantal, Shandra (Bryan), Shayla (Ben), and Shayna (Ty). Step grandchildren from Terri Newton-Anderson. Great-Grandchildren Aiden, Caitlin, Kelsey, Jack, Chevy, Benny, and Grayson.

Gordon joined the army in 1944 at the age of 19. After leaving the armed forces he married Peggy Bengert in 1950 and started a family farm at Grenfell, Saskatchewan. While on the farm Gordon and Peggy had two boys, David, and Keith. After an extended illness, the family relocated to Webb, Saskatchewan where Gordon began a career as an appliance technician with Melhoff Electric in Swift Current. In Webb Gordon became involved in the Boy Scouts. Starting and leading the Webb 1st Wolf Cub Pack. Later the family moved to Swift Current where Gordon and Peggy opened Anderson Appliance Service. The family business continues today. Peggy passed away in 1982. In 1984 Gordon remarried to Terri Newton. Gordon and Terri relocated to Qualicum Beach, BC in the early 1990s. They were active in the Qualicum Beach Royal Canadian Legion Branch 76 and enjoyed golfing, curling, and camping. Gordon spent many hours creating stain glass, rug hooking and model railroading. After Terri’s passing in 2010 Gordon continued to live in their home at Hawthorn Place senior’s residence in Qualicum Beach until he passed away. He was a very active member of the Hawthorn community where he acted as a social director until the end. As Gordon’s mobility became more limited, he loved playing cards, Wii curling, Wii Golf and Wii bowling. Gordon had a very happy and full life. Enjoying his family and friends.

Interment will take place in the Spring in Swift Current Saskatchewan.
