John Winkelmann

On Wednesday, April 20, 2022 John Winkelmann left our world to rejoin his wife (Ruth), parents (George & Karoline) sister (Lorraine), brother (George), and family and friends that passed before John’s death.

John was born and lived in Stony Plain, Alberta. He graduated from Concordia College where he met and married Ruth. He completed his degree in Accounting at the U of A in Edmonton. John moved his family to Calgary and at this time their life of wanderlust began. John’s work took them around the world, from Calgary to Whitehorse, Yukon to Dar ed Salaam, Tanzania to Dhaka, Bangladesh. While overseas they enjoyed travelling to Europe, India, Africa, South East Asia, Japan, and Australia. In 1989 the returned to Canada and finally settled in Parksville, BC. John enjoyed fishing and lawn bowling, and touring during their retirement.

John is survived by his two sons Darren (Michelle) of Surrey, BC and Bradley of Port Alberni, BC., his sister Dorothy (Mike) of Edmonton, and brother Norbert (Simone) of Beaumont, Alberta. He will be dearly missed by family and friends.

An Interment will be held at a later date.
