Lane Daniel BOYD

With much sadness, we announce the passing of Lane on Wednesday, June 8th at the Nanaimo Regional Hospital.

He leaves to forever miss him his wife of 42 years, Lynn; children, Jeramy (Katerina) and Naomi (Brent); siblings, Joy Gibson, Jim Boyd, Todd Boyd, and Janet Coull.  Lane was predeceased by his parents, Della and Wayne as well as brothers, Neil and Ford.

Lane was born to Della and Wayne Boyd in September of 1951 in Prince George, BC.  His family relocated to Squamish when he was 10. He followed in his father’s footsteps and became a heavy duty mechanic helping his dad run Boyds Repair.

He met the love of his life, Lynn in September of 1979 and they were married the following August.  Son, Jeramy was born in 1981 and their little family was completed in 1982 with the birth of Naomi.

1996 found them moving to Britannia where he volunteered as a firefighter for 13 years.  Lane loved to tinker, the open road, and his family.  He was an artist, creating many beautiful pieces.  Retirement brought him to Port Alberni where he spent his days volunteer at the IIHS and sipping coffee at the Steampunk Café.

Loved and cherished by all that knew him – Lane will be missed immensely.

In keeping with his wishes, no formal services will be held.  Those wishing to honour his memory may do so by making a donation in his name to Heart & Stroke Foundation or the Canadian Diabetes Association.
